2)HAWA MAHAL:-Along with Amer fort, this place also set a high benchmark in the list of historical places in Rajasthan. Built in the 18thcentury as the name depicts Hawa Mahal rightly stands for Temple of winds. Structured as a honeycomb maze this place served as an important means for the attack of troops and also for women to look through the windows to know about our world. The name is so because it has a total of 953 windows allowing the wind to enter from all sides. However, the windows are not open all the time. This is done because along with the wind the dust and other particles also enter the fort. Being huge for this fort is an implicit beauty of ancient ear built off the red and pink sandstone. 3)CHITTORGARH FORT:-This fort being the largest in Rajasthan covers more than 700 acres of land representing the chivalry, blood history, and braveness of the Rajput. Built by Mori Rajputana ruler, Chitrangad this place is rich in history about the battles that took place here. The legend associated with this story follows that a king was captivated by the beauty of the queen here. Trying to win over her the king invaded the fort by breaking down the walls, while the queen and her maids did Sati. The important water reservoirs, tower of victory and rich history makes this place an important tourist attractions in Rajasthan.
4)JAISALMER FORT:-This fort built in the 12thcentury is one of the largest forts in India. Known as the Golden fort it is called so because it glitters as gold when the sun rays hit the walls of this fort. Although this huge fort has only four gateways the grand cannons, havelis, and sandstone walls make this royal fort a part of Heritage of India. The major attraction of this place is when the sun sets on the fort camouflaging with the sands of the Thar Desert on which it is located rightly earning the name of “Sonar Quila”.
5)RANTHAMBORE FORT:-Built-in the 8thcentury this was built by the Chauhans. This fort also supported a lot of bottles during wartime. The fort is a well-defined beauty with shining pathways, gardens and its rich history written on the walls. The popular Ranthambore Sanctuary is also a popular tourist spot which was earlier used for hunting by the kings. There is a Jain temple along with two other temples inside it making it religiously significant places for visitors.
