The 1 star is for the fact on how this comparison website chooses to work with suppliers . We have booked a car in February for August. Arrived in Bucharest and the car that was prepared for us is in the photos I am attaching. The supplier said it’s the only car and that s it. It is drivable and we should take it. I refused stating that the condition of the car is not roadworthy and I was driven back to the airport. Called the Helpdesk a day before to check that all is ok with the rental, and Inwas reassured that all will be good. They rerouted us to a different supplier who had a similar car not damaged by one that the office guys were using, stating that this would be the car for myself. Told them that I had to drive for work some good miles and sadly this will not do it on 30+ degrees outside with barely a hint of AC coming out of the air vents. The only option to upgrade they had was a premium car which costed 4 times the original price. Now they are blaming on me with an attitude like they made me an outstanding service. No, discover cars you did not, you just ruined my stay in Romania with your so called way of treating customers.
PS: they will not return my booking fee cause according to themselves I did not comply with its the terms and conditions.

easy to understand and make selections, THE BEST price we found and so far so good! we didn’t actually get the car yet, but the booking was a great experience 🙂 * REVISED well, after the initial excitement for the good price we arrived to the airport and came upon a horrid lineup, I mean a lineup unlike I’ve ever seen for a rental car. Two hours in and still waiting, (see pic below) 2 people at the counter. No cancelation or refund possible at this time… I will keep updating this review as we go. After a 12 hour trip, I am not happy to wait this long for a pre-booked and paid rental.
I would give them zero stars if possible. Please READ your rental vouchers. Make sure they accept your insurance company. They don’t accept All State. And my rental price ended up being doubled!! I also read that they charge $1000 deposit. Read the fine prints before going with this company. Now I have wasted two hours of my life because I need to find a more reasonable rental car. This company needs to inform their customers better. Like remind clients that only certain insurance are accepted. Now they took $50 from me but still better than paying $350 for what is suppose to be $135 rental. I was able to rent a car for $200 from another company without the outrageous deposit and up charged just because they don’t accept a large insurance carrier such as All State!!!! Buyer beware!!! Also all the positive reviews seem to come from the same account?? 🤔🤔🤔
As public service, I will repetitively post this review so it doesn’t get drown by their fictitious fake reviews. People need to be warned about this company.
Really the only service that Discover Cars can offer is a method of finding cheaper quotes (possibly) for car hire. Beyond that they offer nothing more than a website, a series of automated emails and a ‘call centre’ (couple of people in Latvia). In my experience, it is more cost effective and offers far better customer service to approach a rental firm directly. I will not be using this company again and would advise friends and acquaintances to do the same. I am surprised by the positive reviews on Google, some of which perhaps merit further scrutiny.
Overall we will be updating the list soon with all that is happening to the members of the public. We suggest that you look at what people are experiencing but no one really cares about what happens to their money. This is something that we should be sharing so that more and more members of the public know.
