The true story of the women’s party

The origins of the women’s day are rather historical and political, in fact, this was celebrated for the first time in 1909 when the American socialist party decided to proclaim this day.

Tradition was soon exported to Europe, the following year, when during the International Conference of Socialist Women, it was decided to celebrate a day dedicated to women.

However, no single date had been set, so each country chose it arbitrarily. Only in 1921, on the occasion of the Second Socialist Women’s Conference in Moscow, a date was set. It was precisely chosen on March 8th to honor the demonstration against the Tsarism undertaken by women in St. Petersburg, in 1917.
